Credit for postgraduate studies
Graduate faster with credit
If you’ve studied a qualification at one of our partner institutions in Australia or overseas, you may be able to receive credit for your previous study so you can finish your degree sooner.
We’ve established formal credit transfer arrangements with select institutions to streamline the process.
If your previous study falls under one of these agreements, you’ll know upfront how much credit you’ll receive when you receive your offer to study at UC.
If your previous study isn’t covered by a formal agreement or automatic credit, you can still apply for credit through an individual assessment once you’ve accepted your study offer at UC.
This option is great if your past study closely matches UC units, but hasn’t been formally recognised yet.

Applying as a new student
If you’re applying from overseas, you can request credit for previous study when you submit your application to UC.
Current international students
If you apply for credit after you’ve started studying, speak to your faculty first. Credit may change your course duration and affect your Confirmation of Enrolment, which could impact your visa.
