Adjustment factors can help you receive an offer for one or more of your course preferences at UC, even if your ATAR doesn鈥檛 meet the minimum requirements for those courses. They work by awarding extra points to your selection rank, giving you a higher entry score for certain courses.

It鈥檚 worth noting that subject adjustment factors do not change your ATAR, they only change your selection rank for certain course preferences.

If you鈥檝e applied for a UC course through the , you don鈥檛 need to submit a separate application for subject adjustment factors. If you鈥檝e achieved the required results in the relevant subjects, up to 10 adjustment factors are automatically added to your ATAR to give you a more competitive selection rank for relevant UAC course preferences.

Subject adjustment points are awarded automatically if you鈥檙e completing an Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia in the current year. If you鈥檙e a current Year 12 student from outside the ACT and NSW, you can still be awarded subject adjustment factors 鈥� check the UAC list of for other states.
