This artwork is a study of and is inspired by expressionism, where an abundance of unnatural colours is used to present figures and environments. I wanted to try this technique in my own work, using predominantly green because I felt it represented the character nicely and created a sickly, disconnected atmosphere for the drawing. It is also inspired by the game, Disco Elysium, where the figure is from. Jean Vicquemare is a lonely and sad character and I wanted to explore this part of him in this artwork.
