LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO

96’000 consists of five ceramic ‘wife beater’ singlets. The idea for the ‘wife beater’ comes from my concept of domestic violence. In the centre of each is a logo saying either ‘look what you made me do’ or ‘I never meant to hurt you’. These are phrases which are stereotypically heard after domestic violence has occurred. In the middle of the logo is the number 96,000, this is the number of recorded cases of domestic violence against Australian women in the year starting in March 2023 and ending in March.
