Marxist Still Life

In my still life piece, I chose to emphasise Marxism, specifically the class divide between the aristocracy and the proletariats. I investigated how aristocracy was portrayed in still life paintings, leading me to my first artist of influence, Paul C茅zanne. His still life emphasised perspective, even leading art critics to comment that his still life appeared to be on the brink of collapse. This theme in his still life reflected my research on how aristocracy is portrayed, food, drink and items of decoration appearing scattered and haphazardly strewn around the setting.
