The Male Gaze

The male gaze emphasizes the issues many women face due to 鈥渕ale desires鈥�, objectifying them and based on men鈥檚 sexual intentions and their need for control, and power. The COVID pandemic negatively impacted domestic violence victims, due to significant contributing factors include: social isolation, an inability to work, being stuck at home and spending more time with the perpetrator. This led to a significant rise in domestic violence against women. This issue has been neglected and hidden by society, because of the shame that is associated with this and society is uncomfortable with it.
