Solitude in Aspect: Urban Nightscapes

My work explores the relationship between the urban environment and its dominance over the individual. I have been fascinated with light as both material and subject throughout this process. Through a monochromatic palette with a focus on the play of light, I have encapsulated the mood of the urban environment, exemplifying the emptiness and solitude of the vastness of cities. By having a series of photographs that juxtaposes both the absence and presence of the individual, in the space I have demonstrated how these figures are anomalies within the streetscape at night.
